There are some situation arises where some countries went for surgical strikes.This types of strikes are some time harmful for both the countries who are doing it and the country which aginst such strikes are going on.
Here is the list of top ten surgical strikes:
1. INDIAN ARMY OPERATION OVER MYANMAR:
In June 2015,a team of 70 Indian Army commandos had carried out a Surgical Strikes inside the Jungles of Myanmar.It was a around 40 minutes strike.It took out 38 dreaded Naga militants and around seven left injured.It was actually planned by Indian Army after Naga militants killed 18 Indian soldiers in Chandal area of Manipur on June 4, 2015.
2.OSAMA BIN LADEN'S ASSASSINATION OPERATION,PAKISTAN:
The US special forces attacked an ISI safe house in May 2011,in Pakistan.Where Osama Bin Laden was hiding,taking him out in a special attack.The name of the operation was Operation Neptune Spear which was carried out by the US Navy SEALs.
3.RAID ON ENTEBBE,UGANDA:
The Israel forces carried out an operation on to rescue of hostage in Uganda's airpoart is remembered as on of the most historical surgical strikes.Members of the popular front for the Liberation of Palestine hacked an Air France plane on june 1976 and forced it to land it in Uganda's airport.The strike was carried out by 100 Israeli commandos,and the rescued all passengers except three and killed all militants.
4. BAY OF PIGS INVASION:
It was carried out in 1961 with the order of US President F Kennedy.CIA led invasion of Cuba by 1400 Cuban exiles from 'The Bay Of Pigs'.The military mission to overthrow the Fidel Castro government met a disastrous end.ore than 100 solders were being killed.
5. OPERATION EAGLE CLAW, IRAN:
Some Iranian students took 53 American hostage to US Embassy in Iran's Capital in 1979.Then US president Jimmy Carter initated a secret rescue operation named as "OPERATION EAGLE CLAW".However the mission was ended with a total disaster for American's.Finally eight US soldiers were died and none of the hostage were rescued.
6. OPERATION NIFTY PACKAGE, PANAMA:
The operation was carried out in 1989. US initiated the mission to capture Panamanian director manual Noriega. The US navy SEAL's cornered Noriega at a Roman catholic facility in Panama city. After a heavy crossfire and loud music the Noriega surrendered.
7. OPERATION BLACK HAWK DOWN, SOMALIA:
US special forces mission to capture Somali war lord Mohammad Farrah Aidid in 1993 went horribly wrong after two US Black Hawk fighter jet were spot down. In this mission 18 US soldiers were died, more than 70 were injured. The operation Black Hawk Down was unsuccessful. It went very popular and someone write a book and movie Black Hawk Down.
8. THE RESCUE OF JESSICA LYNCH, IRAQ:
US soldier Jessica Lynch was captured by Iraqi force after her convoy was decimated in an attack in Nassiriya in April 2003. After 9 days a very strong attack implemented by US special forces in a Hospital and rescue her. They also recovered 8 bodies of US soldiers.
9. THE CAPTURE OF KHALID SHEIKH MOHAMMED, PAKISTAN:
CIA lead a surgical strike in Pakistan in march 2003 to capture 3 terror suspect, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was the main planner of 9/11. The strike was placed in Rawalpindi and captured Khalid Mohammed.
10. ABU MUSAB AL-ZARQAWI'S ASSASSINATION, IRAQ:
US Air force sent war planes to carry out a surgical strike on the safe house of Abu, the leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq in June 2006. In this attack they attacked with 500 pound bombs and he died in the hand of US soldiers.
